FAQs
Q: Who do you work with?
A: I primarily work with entry-level and associate-level professionals who are preparing for internships, first jobs, or second career transitions. Many of my clients are navigating the professional world for the first time and want a thoughtful place to talk through questions before making important decisions.

In addition to interview preparation, I often help clients work through common early-career situations such as:
-
Weighing multiple job opportunities
-
Navigating networking conversations versus formal interviews
-
Deciding between potential career paths
-
Preparing for salary or offer conversations
-
Building confidence in interviews or professional settings
-
Navigating new workplace dynamics
-
Thinking through challenging or unfamiliar situations at work

Q: What experience do you bring to these sessions?
A: I spent over five years working in recruiting and hiring across professional services, from small businesses to corporate environments. As a third-party recruiter, I worked closely with candidates on interview preparation and helped place professionals in roles ranging from entry-level positions to C-suite. During that time, as well as in my in-house recruiting roles, I interviewed hundreds of candidates and saw firsthand where strong professionals often struggle to communicate their experience effectively.
Because I’m now independent and not tied to a firm’s hiring goals, my focus is simply on helping you think through your options and present your experience as clearly and confidently as possible.

Q: Do I need to have an interview scheduled?
A: Nope! Many clients come to sessions before they even start applying. Building confidence and practicing early can make the entire job search smoother and less stressful.

Q: How are you different from automated interview tools?
A: Automated tools can generate practice questions, but they can’t evaluate your delivery or help you refine your story. I provide personalized feedback based on real recruiting experience and focus on the human element.
Q: Can I ask general job-search questions?
A: Absolutely! Many clients use sessions as a place to ask questions and talk through decisions about applications, interviews, or offers. Think of it as a trusted space to think things through and gain clear, thoughtful perspective.

Q: Are sessions online or in person?
Sessions are held online, making it easy to meet from wherever you are.

Q: What should I bring to a session?
A: If you have them, bring:
-
A resume
-
A job description
-
Interview questions you've been asked
-
Specific concerns or goals

If you don’t have these yet, that’s okay. We’ll start wherever you are.

Q: How many sessions do most people book?
A: Many clients start with a single session and return as new situations arise — such as preparing for an interview, evaluating a job offer, or navigating a new challenge at work. Others prefer multiple sessions to practice interviews and refine their storytelling over time.

Q: How do I know which type of session to book?
A: If you have an interview coming up, our First Impressions Session or Dress Rehearsal Session is usually the best fit.
If you’re looking for clarity, guidance, or a place to talk through a situation, a Sounding Board session is a great starting point. If you're looking to strengthen certain aspects of your first impression, like networking or answering questions on your feet, our à la carte menu has some choices for you! No matter what, if you’re unsure, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help you choose the option that will be most helpful.
